Education Week

As the picture editing intern at Education Week, I worked closely the with the Director of Photography, Charlie Borst, as a two-person visuals team that worked in tandem with the video team. My primary responsibilities included wire photo research, image selection for digital and print stories, Full Frame blog photo essay pitches, and general photo support for the company. Below are selections of my editing work as an intern. Before I finished my time at the company, I created a guide for future interns with lessons I learned, best practices for the systems, and detailed instructions for color correcting in print and web display.

Print layouts

The picture editing intern has a unique opportunity to work on the print products directly with the Director of Photography. Here are a few of my favorite print presentations of photos that I selected that went to print. In the first layout, “After-School Student Wellness,” I worked directly with the photographer and design team to assemble this edit.
